According to Hungarian wire service MTI, products from a Hungarian chocolatier and a vegetable-oil manufacturer have made it onto the British Great Taste Award Top 50 List.

According to the Awards’ website,

Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. Quite simply the Great Taste logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local, quality retailer.

A total of 12,000 fine food products from all over the world were submitted to compete at this year’s Great Taste Award Top 50.

Chocolatier chocoMe’s milk chocolate and ground coffee covered Raffinee dragee made it onto the list. This sweet is made of Piedmonte hazelnuts “draped” in “layers of velvety milk chocolate” and “lightly infused with cinnamon.”

Describing the chocolate-covered hazelnuts, Great Taste judges called them

A sublime morsel of nutty joyfulness, enveloped in exquisite milk chocolate.

The other Hungarian product to make it onto the list was Donum Terrae’s pumpkin seed oil, which the Great Taste Award’s judges described as

Warming, yet mild, this oil has a deep colour and wonderful nutty aroma. Viscous and glossy, it’s a refined product with praline notes and just the right level of toastiness.
