The Budapest International Wine Festival offered a great opportunity to taste award-winning Hungarian wines; this year, the event also hosted the best of Chilean wines and gastronomy as well.

This is a place where gastronomy, culture, and wine-making meet. Unsurprisingly, it is one of Hungary’s favorite festivals. This year it was held for the 26th time, and from the 7th-10th of September the festival opened its gates in the fascinating Buda Castle. Visitors could try 190 wines from Hungary and some wines from outside Hungary as well. In particular, this year’s festival highlighted Chile.

Even if you are not a wine lover, you could find something that piqued your interest. Over the past years, the Budapest Wine Festival has truly come of age, and is now one of the most prestigious events of its kind in Hungary.  Visitors could enjoy many popular events, including a Wine University, a wine auction, an arts festival and several live performances.

The Wine Festival takes place every year in September (but some of the past festivals took place in October), and features a fascinating Harvest Procession in the Buda Castle, besides the many concerts and performances to help you enjoy your wines even more.
